New Zealand has been one of our longest and closest partners in the outdoor ministry realm. Over the past few years our friends there have been able to start a ministry called Wide Open Spaces (WOS). Wide Open Spaces in a non-profit charitable trust operating in New Zealand. Their heart is to bring people closer to Jesus, by taking them into the wilderness as Christ did with his own disciples. Their aim is to do this at the lowest possible cost enabling everyone to have an opportunity to meet Christ in creation. This past summer WOS took four trips of young people into the bush. It was a blessing to be able to partner with them this past summer and see the amazing fruit that God brought through this ministry. WOS also does a fundraiser similar to Project 54 called the Peak Challenge, make sure to check it out. Way to go WOS! Keep on fighting for those young Kiwis!

Over the past four years we have been able to develop a wonderful friendship with a group of youth workers in The Czech Republic. These guys have a tremendous heart for the outdoors and for young people. Their passion led them to develop and organization called Krestanský Outdoor (or for us non-Czech speakers it’s known as KO). KO’s aim is to introduce Czech young people to Jesus Christ through wilderness adventures. Czech Republic is the most atheistic country in the world and we at WMI admire and applaud their passion and efforts to bring the Gospel to their country.
